Exercise Management of Chronic Diseases and Disabilities for All Ages™
Specialist Home Study Course
is approved by all major personal training certification organizations
and BOC for athletic training.

Our Exercise Management of Chronic Diseases and Disabilities for All Ages™ course presents the latest research and applications for integrating exercise into the treatment of 49 chronic diseases and disabilities. The text book was developed by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). A framework is established for determining functional capacity in persons with chronic diseases and disabilities and guidance in developing appropriate exercise programming to optimize functional capacity and reduce the compounding effects of exercise intolerance. The text format allows quick access to the pathology of interest, training and response to exercise, management of medications, and recommendations and special considerations of exercise testing and programming. Within the text, diseases and disorders are organized into seven sections: cardiovascular diseases; pulmonary diseases; metabolic diseases; immunological and hematological disorders; orthopedic diseases and disabilities; neuromuscular disorders; and cognitive, psychological, and sensory disorders. Exercise is presented as a viable component in the care and treatment of chronic disease and disability that can positively affect functional capacity and slow or prevent exercise intolerance.
