What People
Are Saying About SrFit™
The book is very
easy to read and it is packed with useful information,
especially updated Internet resource center. The author did a great job
of explaining medical terms in lay person’s language. I am
sure professionals in senior fitness will buy this book to add to their
library.

My name is
Richard Barry. I am 69 years old. I have been a certified personal
trainer since 2001. Because of my age and physical appearance, I was
approached the owner/trainer of my local gym to help with the seniors
in his gym. I was only willing to help if I could
receive more training about seniors and how to help
them. I realize how much more informed I am using the SrFit program.
The ability to take the SrFit program on my computer is a great benefit
to me because I am hearing impaired and find classes difficult. Taking
the test on line is very easy to do and I got my results immediately. I
am very pleased with this program and recommend it to everyone.
Thank you for the great program.

Petersen’s SrFit program manual provides readers with a solid
resource on older adult exercise training that nicely blends scientific
research with practical application. The SrFit manual is user-friendly
and will appeal to both novice and seasoned health and fitness
professionals. This manual will be a welcomed addition to the library
of any individual working in the specialty area of senior fitness.

Thank
you for the incredibly informative SrFit text that you created for
fitness professionals. I have a degree in exercise science
and am a certified athletic trainer. Although I have a good
knowledge of biomechanics, physiology and exercise, your text and
comprehensive DVD study guide has provided me with information specific
to the senior population. My personal training company and
all of our trainers use the text on a daily basis! Again,
thank you.

As an
ACE-certified personal trainer and a lifestyle and weight management
consultant, I find the 'SrFit' manual and workshops essential in the
career path development of the personal trainer. Tammy Petersen has
developed a fully rounded program that educates and prepares personal
trainers to work safely within the realm of senior fitness. The manual
is a great tool for every trainer, whether they specialize in senior
fitness or simply want to increase their knowledge base of special
populations.

The SrFit Program
is a great program for anyone who will be working with the senior
population. It provides excellent information about the aging process
and concerns when working with this population. I would recommend this
program to anyone who is personal training or working as a group
instructor with older adults.

The
SrFit Program is quite simply the preeminent course for training
seniors. While many may attempt to address the importance of getting
the growing senior population active and fit, Tammy is doing something
about it. She is training a new generation of fitness professionals on
the importance and intricacies of senior training.

The SrFit course
is the most comprehensive, science
based course on training older adults that I have seen. The information
is provided in an easy to understand format and the supporting
materials (DVDs, CD, workbook, website) reinforce the manual
superbly.
I highly recommend this program.

SrFit is a
valuable resource for personal trainers
who work with active older adults and with individuals of any age
suffering from chronic disease. Tammy Petersen has done a wonderful job
constructing a concise manual that clearly describes the many changes
associated with aging (and inactivity), guidelines for senior exercise
prescription, and strategies to more effectively work with this rapidly
growing segment of our society. SrFit should be a primary reference in
the libraries of all fitness professionals.

Overall, I would
recommend this book to any practitioner who treats seniors. I
definitely think that chiropractors could get use out of it.
Especially the exercise recommendations as they are simple to do,
instruct and don't require much in the way of equipment. The book is
surprisingly detailed. It was almost like a text book with practical
advice... advice that is actually up to date and accurate, which I find
is rare.

My
number one complaint with most books concerning health and fitness;
they're typically boring as hell. Most people don't want to
read anything related to health and fitness, fearing they may slip into
a boredom-induced coma. Thankfully, this is not one of
them. Tammy does a great job merging fact and stat
with easy and enjoyable. This is a book for which you can
learn, reference and happily, attentively read.

Tammy Petersen's
SrFit book is comprehensive, intelligent, useful and more importantly,
easy to read, so the information can be applied. Too many textbooks try
and impress the reader instead of making it an applicable tool of the
trade. This book does it all for personal trainers to hit the ground
running. Our senior college course has been well received with this
book as its foundation.

Like
her first book on senior exercise, Functionally Fit™, Tammy
Petersen has done a masterful job presenting very important fitness
information for older men and women in a very interesting and
understandable format. She addresses key aspects of the aging process
and our best anecdotal, sensible strength, endurance and flexibility
exercise. From a practical perspective, her exercise selection is
excellent, and her training recommendations are safe, effective and
time-efficient, thereby enhancing the probability of successful program
participation on the part of senior men and women. While Ms.
Petersen’s book stands by itself as a comprehensive text, she
identifies and provides access to additional resources that are highly
relevant, and which should be reviewed thoroughly for even greater
understanding of senior fitness and lifestyle concerns. Let the
easy-to-read writing style enhance your knowledge of senior fitness in
a most enjoyable and employable manner. Applying these materials to
senior programs should make a remarkable improvement in the training
outcomes.
